“Staples-Motley Elementary is a community of learners that nurtures learning, responsibility, and respect.”  It serves approximately 320  pre-kindergarten through grade three in the Staples and Motley areas with three-four sections of most grade levels depending on class sizes.  Classroom teachers offer a focused curriculum aligned to MN Standards and students also take part in music, physical education, art, health, and technology classes.

Staples-Motley Elementary was recognized in February 2011 by the Minnesota Center for Reading Research for making significant progress in teaching students to read over consecutive school years. Our students benefit each year from hundreds of volunteer hours from our Parent Teacher Connection.  The most recent benefit is the installation of a brand new playground for our students to enjoy.

Our building houses the Staples Family Center, which includes a full slate of quality programs for pre-school children and their parents.  Our ECSE program received the Parent Aware 4-Star Highest Possible Rating from parents and the MN Department of Human Services.  You know your child is getting the best possible start at our school!

Title I funds are used to provide small group instruction in reading, written language, and mathematics as well as reading interventions.  We are fortunate to have three MN Reading Corps tutors in our building to assist with reading interventions for our students.

At Staples-Motley Elementary, we are committed to the best possible education for your student and we look forward to working with you and your child.
